Hewlett Packard Provides Technology Grant7/15/04 - The LSBAC has received computers and software from a grant awarded to Community Teamwork, Inc. by Hewlett Packard. "Due to funding constraints the Center was forced to forgo the periodic upgrades necessary to maintain its computing infrastructure, as a result, the Center's resources steadily deteriorated. This grant is both timely and important. It will enable us to completely retool the Center; new computers, printers, scanners and software." said Russ Smith, Executive Director of the Center. It will will enable us to expand the scope and quality of the services we provide to clients."The Center, founded in December of 1998 is a partnership of Community Teamwork, Inc., the Lowell Division of Planning and development, and Middlesex Community College. Its mission is to provide entrepreneurs from ethnically and economically diverse groups with the education, tools, and resources necessary to create sustain and expand small businesses. Last year the Center started 49 small businesses, created 108 new jobs, and generated $11.3M in client sales. For More Information Contact:
