Russ Smith - Executive Director
Russ joined the Center in March of 2002. As Executive Director Russ
oversees the day to day operation of the Center and its strategic direction.
He is the Center's lead counselor.
Prior to joining
the Center, Russ was Vice Chairman of SCORE (Service Corps of Retired
Executives) and taught and lectured at Hesser College and North Shore
Community College. In 1993 Russ founded Sales and Marketing Search, Inc.
an executive search firm specializing in recruiting sales and
marketing professionals for high technology companies. In seven years
he grew the company into the 5th largest recruiting company in
Massachusetts, and then sold it to pursue his long standing interest in
teaching. Prior to starting his company, he served in senior
marketing and sales positions with companies such as MCI, Omni
Communications, Money Management Systems, Bank of Boston, and Xerox before
starting his business. He has a MBA from the University of Connecticut
at Storrs and a BA from Baldwin Wallace College in Business Administration.

Terry Williams - Assistant Director
Terry joined the Center in the Fall of 2003. She is
responsible for the Center's special projects, including the City of
Lowell's Technical Assistance Program. She also is a
small business counselor.
Terry received her masters in International Development
from Clark University with a focus on microfinance. She has
worked on income generating and microfinance programs in both Guatemala and
Peru and was a volunteer at ACCION USA, the largest microlender in the
United States. Terry has worked with immigrants and refugees in the Boston area while working at the International Institute
of Boston and teaching English as a second language. She also has
experience managing a variety of small businesses. She is fluent in
Spanish. |

Maria Ramirez - Administration &
Outreach Coordinator-
Maria coordinates
the flow of clients through the Center, maintains the Center's performance
statistics and client records, and does follow-up. She also does outreach,
particularly in the Latino Community.
Maria received her Associates Degree in 2006 from Middlesex Community
College. She studied Office Systems and Administration and took
courses in Business and Human Resource Management. Maria completed her
college internship at the Greater Lowell Chamber of Commerce where she
updated the Chamber's databases, worked on memberships, and provided
information about the Chamber to the general public. She
is fluent in Spanish & English. |
